Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel is set to close in its entirety later this year as the resort prepares for an extensive refurbishment project aimed at refreshing the flagship Victorian-style property.

Reservations for the hotel are no longer available from 12th October 2026 onwards, with Hong Kong Disneyland Resort yet to announce a reopening date. The closure follows refurbishment work that first began in June, when renovations were limited to sections of the building while the hotel remained open to guests.

The full closure marks a significant milestone in the project, allowing work to expand across the entire resort hotel. While Disney has not shared specific details about the renovation plans, the updated hotel is expected to blend its classic Disney storytelling with modern design elements, creating an enhanced experience for future guests.

Opened alongside Hong Kong Disneyland in 2005, the Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel is known for its elegant Victorian-inspired architecture, six-storey grand lobby and waterfront setting. The resort offers a variety of accommodation options, including themed rooms and club-level suites, as well as popular dining locations such as Crystal Lotus, Walt’s Café and the Enchanted Garden Restaurant. Recreational offerings also include the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and a range of leisure facilities.

During the initial phase of refurbishment over the summer, guests were advised that construction activity could result in occasional noise, odours and affected room views between 11:00am and 4:00pm each day. Despite these disruptions, hotel facilities remained operational until the decision was made to temporarily close the property completely.

The closure leaves Hong Kong Disneyland Resort with its remaining on-site hotels, Disney Explorers Lodge and Disney’s Hollywood Hotel, continuing to welcome guests while work progresses on the resort’s flagship accommodation.

Disney has not provided a timeline for the refurbishment or indicated when bookings will reopen. Guests planning visits after mid-October are encouraged to monitor official reservation channels for future updates.
