Crush’s Coaster at Disneyland Paris is set to undergo its most extensive technical refurbishment since the attraction opened in 2007.

The popular attraction, located in the Worlds of Pixar area of the newly renamed Disney Adventure World, will close from 7th September 2026, with the refurbishment expected to continue until summer 2027. Disneyland Paris says the work is being carried out to support the attraction’s continued operation for years to come, while also improving comfort for guests and Cast Members.

The refurbishment has been in preparation for several months, with teams from Disneyland Paris, Walt Disney Imagineering Paris, Maintenance and the resort’s Central Workshops involved in planning the project.

A significant technical refurbishment

The work will go considerably beyond routine maintenance.

According to Disneyland Paris, the first phase will involve replacing a number of key technical components, including certain control systems, sensors and communications equipment. Sections of the attraction’s track will also be replaced as part of the project.

Once this work has been completed, the attraction will enter an extensive period of testing and technical validation. This will allow the various systems to be checked and tested before Crush’s Coaster eventually welcomes guests back.

The length of the closure reflects the scale of the work being undertaken. Disneyland Paris previously closed the attraction for around six months in 2015, but the resort describes the project beginning this September as the most extensive refurbishment carried out on Crush’s Coaster since its opening.

The show elements will also receive attention

The technical work will be accompanied by improvements to the attraction’s appearance.

Disneyland Paris says that its teams and external contractors will clean, repaint and repair various scenic elements throughout the attraction. The work is intended to preserve the detail and condition of the Finding Nemo-inspired environment as the attraction enters its next chapter.

Crush’s Coaster combines a spinning roller coaster with scenes inspired by Disney and Pixar’s Finding Nemo. Guests board turtle-shell-inspired vehicles before travelling through an underwater adventure alongside Crush and other characters from the film.

While the ride itself is only part of the experience, maintaining its surrounding scenery is an important part of preserving the attraction as it was originally designed.

Part of a changing Disney Adventure World

The refurbishment comes at an important point for Disneyland Paris.

Disney Adventure World has now entered a new phase following the opening of World of Frozen on 29th March 2026. The reimagined second park has been one of the most significant developments in the history of Disneyland Paris, with the wider transformation representing a reported €2 billion investment.

Crush’s Coaster predates that transformation by almost two decades. It opened in 2007 and has remained one of the established attractions within what was formerly Walt Disney Studios Park.

Its refurbishment therefore represents something different from the construction of a new land or attraction. Rather than replacing an existing experience, Disneyland Paris is investing in maintaining and updating one of the park’s long-standing attractions.

That approach will be increasingly important as the resort’s attraction portfolio continues to mature.

Guests will have to wait until 2027

There will inevitably be an impact for guests visiting Disney Adventure World during the refurbishment.

Crush’s Coaster will not be available from 7th September, and Disneyland Paris currently expects the attraction to return in summer 2027. The resort has not announced a specific reopening date at this stage.

Disneyland Paris regularly carries out refurbishment work across its attractions, noting that temporary closures are necessary to ensure rides continue to meet its standards.

For Crush’s Coaster, however, the scale of this particular project makes it more substantial than a typical maintenance closure.

When the attraction eventually reopens, guests should find a ride that remains fundamentally familiar while benefiting from significant behind-the-scenes technical work and refreshed scenic elements.

For now, the final opportunity to experience Crush’s Coaster before the refurbishment begins is approaching, with the attraction scheduled to close on 7th September.

The return in summer 2027 will mark the next stage in the life of one of Disney Adventure World’s longest-established attractions.
