Minnie Mouse is set to take over Tokyo Disneyland once again, with the colourful and playful Minnie’s Funderland event officially returning in 2027.

The limited-time celebration will run from 13th January through 31st March 2027, bringing Minnie back to the centre of Tokyo Disneyland’s seasonal entertainment. The announcement was made on 5th August 2026 and marks the seventh instalment of the Disney Pal-Palooza special event series.

A return to Minnie’s imaginative world

Minnie’s Funderland is built around the idea of a world imagined by Minnie Mouse as she looks through a mirror. The concept gives the event its distinctive pop-inspired and playful identity, with Minnie at the heart of the celebration.

The 2027 event will run for 78 days, covering the period from mid-January through the end of March. Tokyo Disney Resort has confirmed the dates, but has not yet revealed the full entertainment and merchandise line-up for the upcoming edition.

That means there is still plenty that remains unknown about what guests will experience when the event begins.

The seventh Disney Pal-Palooza event

Minnie’s Funderland will be the seventh event in Tokyo Disneyland’s Disney Pal-Palooza series.

The series has become a recurring feature of the Tokyo Disneyland calendar, using different Disney characters and themes to transform the park during the quieter winter and early spring period.

Minnie has already played a major role in the series, making her return particularly notable. The announcement also means guests will once again be able to experience a seasonal celebration centred around one of Disney’s most recognisable characters.

What could return in 2027?

Although Tokyo Disney Resort has not announced the individual offerings for 2027, previous versions of Minnie’s Funderland have included a variety of special experiences.

Past celebrations have featured themed entertainment, park decorations, merchandise, food and drinks, and specially themed hotel rooms. A parade was also among the highlights of the earlier event, giving Minnie and her friends a chance to appear in specially designed seasonal costumes and settings.

For now, however, guests will have to wait for further announcements before knowing whether these elements will return in exactly the same form, receive updates, or be joined by completely new offerings.

A significant period for Tokyo Disney Resort

The timing of Minnie’s Funderland is also interesting because the event will take place during a particularly important period for Tokyo Disney Resort.

Tokyo DisneySea is currently celebrating its 25th anniversary with the Tokyo DisneySea 25th Anniversary: Sparkling Jubilee celebration, which runs until 31st March 2027. That means Minnie’s Funderland and the anniversary celebration will reach their finales on the same day.

For visitors planning a trip during the first three months of 2027, this could make the period especially appealing, with both parks offering major seasonal experiences at the same time.

Tokyo Disneyland is also looking ahead to its own future celebrations, with preparations taking place ahead of the resort’s 45th anniversary in 2028.

When will Minnie’s Funderland take place?

The confirmed dates for the 2027 event are:

13th January 2027 to 31st March 2027.

The event will follow Tokyo Disneyland’s New Year’s Special Event, which is scheduled to run from 1st January through 11th January 2027.

This creates a seamless transition from the New Year celebrations into Disney Pal-Palooza, giving Tokyo Disneyland a continuous run of seasonal programming through the opening months of the year.

At present, Tokyo Disney Resort has only confirmed the event itself and its dates. Details about the 2027 parade, entertainment, decorations, food, merchandise and other guest offerings have yet to be announced.

That leaves plenty of room for speculation about what Minnie’s Funderland will look like when it returns.

For fans who enjoyed previous editions, the announcement is nevertheless confirmation that Minnie will once again have her own special season at Tokyo Disneyland. With the event running until the end of March, it will also provide visitors with a substantial window in which to experience the celebration.

For now, Minnie’s Funderland is officially on the calendar for Tokyo Disneyland from 13th January through 31st March 2027, with further details expected to be revealed at a later date.
