Resident Evil Coming to Universal Horror Unleashed in Las Vegas This Summer

Universal Horror Unleashed is preparing to welcome another legendary horror franchise, with Resident Evil officially joining the permanent attraction in Las Vegas later this summer.

The announcement marks another major addition to Universal’s year-round horror destination at AREA15, expanding its line-up with one of the most recognisable names in survival horror. Inspired by Capcom’s iconic video game series, the new experience promises to immerse guests in the terrifying world of Raccoon City, where a viral outbreak has transformed the city into a nightmare filled with zombies, mutated creatures and the sinister Umbrella Corporation.

While Universal has yet to reveal every detail of the attraction, guests can expect to step into familiar locations from the games as they navigate dark corridors, abandoned laboratories and infected streets. The experience is designed to place visitors directly in the middle of the action, encountering some of the franchise’s most iconic monsters while attempting to survive the outbreak.

Resident Evil has become one of the most successful horror gaming franchises of all time since its debut in 1996, spawning numerous sequels, spin-offs, animated features and live-action films. The series is renowned for blending suspense, action and grotesque creature design, making it a natural fit for Universal’s expanding horror portfolio.

Universal Horror Unleashed opened in Las Vegas as Universal Destinations & Experiences’ first permanent horror attraction, offering immersive haunted houses, themed entertainment, food and beverage venues, and live performances throughout the year. Unlike Halloween Horror Nights, which operates seasonally, Horror Unleashed gives fans the opportunity to experience Universal’s signature scares every day of the year.

The addition of Resident Evil continues Universal’s strategy of bringing well-known horror franchises into the Las Vegas venue, giving fans new reasons to return as the attraction evolves with fresh experiences and intellectual properties.

Universal is expected to reveal additional details, including the attraction’s opening date, in the coming weeks.
