Disney Reveals Passholder Preview Details for Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets

Disney has officially announced Annual Passholder preview dates for the highly anticipated reimagining of Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, giving fans their first chance to experience the new Muppets-themed attraction before its grand opening later this month.

According to reporting from WDWNT, previews for Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets will take place on 21st, 22nd, and 23rd May 2026. Eligible Annual Passholders with a park reservation for Hollywood Studios will be able to join a virtual queue beginning at 7:00 a.m. on preview days. Additional virtual queue opportunities will become available later in the day for Passholders visiting other parks or without reservations.

Disney also confirmed that the virtual queue system will only be used during preview events. Once the attraction officially opens to all guests on 26th May 2026, the ride will operate with a traditional standby queue alongside Lightning Lane access.

The transformation marks one of the biggest changes in the history of the attraction. The former Aerosmith version of Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster closed earlier this year after more than two decades in operation. In its place comes a chaotic, music-filled adventure starring Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem from The Muppets.

Disney Imagineers have redesigned the experience with new queue scenes, updated music, celebrity cameos, and references to the now-closed MuppetVision 3D attraction. Riders will board the iconic “L.I.M.O.” vehicles as they race through Los Angeles to make it to the Electric Mayhem’s biggest concert yet.

The attraction will feature multiple soundtrack variations, including Muppets-inspired covers and collaborations with artists such as Kelly Clarkson, Def Leppard, and Questlove.

The updated exterior has also drawn attention from fans, with the attraction’s famous guitar now sporting a psychedelic Electric Mayhem-inspired paint scheme and brand-new signage.

For longtime Disney fans, the retheme represents both a nostalgic farewell to the Aerosmith era and an ambitious new chapter for one of Walt Disney World’s most thrilling attractions. With previews beginning this week, excitement is already building among Passholders eager to see whether the Muppets can successfully bring fresh energy to one of the resort’s most iconic roller coasters.
