Walt Disney World is gearing up for the highly anticipated debut of its reimagined indoor coaster, as Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets prepares to officially open on 26th May 2026. Ahead of that launch, Disney has now revealed a series of preview opportunities for both Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club (DVC) members, offering select guests an early chance to experience the revamped attraction.
The transformation marks a significant shift from the long-running Aerosmith theme to a new storyline centred on the Muppets’ house band, Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem. While the high-speed ride system remains unchanged, the experience has been updated with a fresh narrative, new scenes, and a reworked soundtrack tied to the band’s chaotic race to make it to their next concert.
Annual Passholder previews
Annual Passholders will be among the first guests to ride, with preview dates scheduled for 21st, 22nd, and 23rd May 2026. During these days, access will be managed via a virtual queue system.
Passholders staying at Disney’s Hollywood Studios can attempt to join the queue from 7am, while additional opportunities open later in the day, including a broader release window in the afternoon that does not require a park reservation.
This system mirrors previous preview rollouts at Walt Disney World, helping to manage demand for what is expected to be one of the resort’s most popular attractions this summer.
DVC member previews and additional access
Disney Vacation Club members will also receive dedicated preview opportunities. Unlike the multi-day Passholder window, DVC previews are more limited, with “priority access” typically offered on a single designated date for each attraction.
For the Muppets coaster, DVC members are expected to preview the ride on 24th May 2026, just days before its public debut.
In addition, DVC members will also have access to previews for Soarin’ Across America, signalling a broader push to give members early access to major attractions returning or reopening across the resort.
A staggered preview strategy
These announcements confirm that Disney is continuing its tiered preview approach, beginning with Cast Members and expanding to Passholders and DVC members in the final days leading up to opening.
This staggered rollout allows Disney to test operations, manage crowd flow, and generate early buzz, while rewarding its most loyal guests with exclusive early rides.
Looking ahead to opening day
With previews now confirmed and the opening date fast approaching, excitement is building around the reimagined coaster. The combination of high-speed thrills and the Muppets’ signature humour is expected to bring a fresh energy to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, while still preserving the core ride experience that has made the attraction a fan favourite for decades.
For those eligible, these preview windows offer a rare opportunity to experience one of 2026’s biggest Disney attractions before the crowds arrive—just in time for what promises to be a lively summer season at Walt Disney World.
