Universal Parks to Celebrate Super Mario Galaxy Movie with Limited-Time Super Nintendo World Experiences

Universal Destinations & Experiences is bringing a cosmic twist to its theme parks this spring as it celebrates the upcoming release of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie with a series of limited-time offerings inside Super Nintendo World. The celebration begins on 10th March 2026—also known as MAR10 Day—and runs through 13th April 2026 at both Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort.

Timed to coincide with the theatrical debut of the film on 1st April 2026, the event invites guests to “power up” their visit with exclusive character interactions, themed food, merchandise, and photo opportunities inspired by the cosmic adventure of Mario’s newest cinematic outing.

At the heart of the celebration is a limited-time meet-and-greet with Yoshi, giving guests the opportunity to interact with the beloved dinosaur character inside Super Nintendo World. The experience will take place at Universal Studios Hollywood as well as the Super Nintendo World area of Universal Epic Universe at Universal Orlando Resort. This marks one of the first dedicated meet-and-greet appearances for the character inside the land.

Food and beverage offerings will also receive a galaxy-themed makeover. Guests can enjoy the Rosalina Cupcake, a blue velvet dessert filled with blueberry cheesecake and topped with lemon buttercream, a chocolate crown, and star. Another treat arriving during the celebration is Galaxy Popcorn, a colourful berry-flavoured snack with edible glitter designed to evoke the cosmic theme of the film.

Merchandise tied to the film will also debut during the event. Among the highlights are interactive Luma shoulder pals inspired by the star-like characters from the Super Mario Galaxy games and film. These accessories feature lights and sound effects and even react to each other when placed close together, creating a playful collectible for fans visiting the land.

The festivities extend beyond the themed land itself. At Universal CityWalk in both Hollywood and Orlando, guests will find a themed photo opportunity inspired by the film’s galactic setting, allowing visitors to pose inside a tunnel-like cosmic environment reminiscent of Mario’s journey through space.

Fans visiting during the celebration will also be able to watch The Super Mario Galaxy Movie at Universal Cinema at CityWalk Hollywood or Universal Cinemark at CityWalk Orlando beginning on 1st April 2026, further connecting the park experience with the film’s release.

The limited-time celebration highlights Universal’s growing strategy of blending film releases with immersive theme park experiences. By tying Super Nintendo World to the debut of the new Mario film, the resort continues to expand the connection between Nintendo’s iconic characters and real-world attractions, giving fans new reasons to step through the warp pipe and into the Mushroom Kingdom once again.
