Tokyo DisneySea has officially kicked off its 25th anniversary celebration with a commemorative opening ceremony for the “Sparkling Jubilee,” marking a major milestone for the park.
The event, which runs from 15th April 2026 through 31st March 2027, transforms Tokyo DisneySea with an ocean-inspired anniversary theme centred around the signature colour “Jubilee Blue.” The celebration honours the park’s opening in 2001 and highlights 25 years of immersive storytelling, themed lands, and maritime-inspired experiences.
A ceremonial launch for the anniversary year
On 15th April 2026, executives from the Oriental Land Company and The Walt Disney Company officially marked the beginning of the anniversary period during a special ceremony held inside the park. The event featured short speeches, a live band performance, and low-level fireworks, setting a celebratory tone for the year ahead.
The ceremony formally introduced guests to the Sparkling Jubilee celebration after decorations and themed entertainment had already begun appearing throughout the park in the days prior.
Jubilee Blue takes over the park
Throughout the anniversary year, Tokyo DisneySea is being decorated extensively in “Jubilee Blue,” a colour palette inspired by the sea and the park’s nautical identity. The theme extends across attractions, entrance areas, hotel projections, and evening lighting effects, creating a unified visual identity for the celebration.
Guests visiting during the event can expect new entertainment offerings, limited-time merchandise, and special food and beverage items, all tied to the anniversary theme.
New entertainment and celebrations
The Sparkling Jubilee also introduces a range of entertainment experiences, including harbour shows at Mediterranean Harbor featuring Mickey Mouse and friends in special anniversary costumes. These performances bring together Disney characters and cast members in celebratory barges for daily guest interactions.
At night, the park and nearby Hotel MiraCosta are illuminated with projection shows set to the anniversary theme song, featuring highlights from the park’s history and appearances from Disney characters across different themed areas.
A full year of anniversary offerings
Beyond entertainment, the celebration includes special dining menus, exclusive merchandise lines, and themed experiences across multiple areas of the park. The anniversary programme is designed to run continuously for nearly a full year, ensuring that guests visiting at different times can experience unique elements of the celebration.
