Tokyo Disneyland is preparing to make history this summer with the debut of its first-ever drone show, bringing an exciting new finale to one of the resort’s most popular nighttime spectaculars.

The new experience will be introduced as part of a special seasonal version of Reach for the Stars, the park’s projection mapping spectacular. From 2nd July until 14th September 2026, guests will be able to experience Reach for the Stars: Everlasting Dreams, an enhanced edition of the show featuring a brand-new drone sequence.

Following the conclusion of the main performance, the nighttime spectacular will continue with an additional five-minute epilogue. Hundreds of illuminated drones will rise above Cinderella Castle, forming Disney-inspired shapes and animations in the night sky. The aerial display will be accompanied by an original musical score created exclusively for the seasonal presentation, while castle projections continue below, creating a unique ending unlike anything previously seen at Tokyo Disneyland.

Reach for the Stars first premiered in 2024, replacing previous nighttime entertainment with a large-scale projection mapping show combining music, lighting, pyrotechnics and special effects. The spectacular celebrates the dreams and journeys of beloved Disney characters from classics such as Peter Pan, Tangled, Frozen, Big Hero 6 and Encanto, while also making history as the first Tokyo Disney Resort nighttime show to feature Marvel characters.

Although Tokyo Disney Resort has experimented with drone entertainment outside its theme parks in recent years, including special touring performances across Japan, this marks the first time drone technology will become part of a nighttime spectacular inside Tokyo Disneyland itself.

The addition reflects a growing trend across Disney parks worldwide, with drone performances becoming increasingly popular for celebrating major anniversaries and seasonal events. Until now, Tokyo Disneyland had not incorporated the technology into its regular in-park entertainment programme, making Everlasting Dreams a significant milestone for the resort.

The enhanced version of Reach for the Stars will only be available during Tokyo Disney Resort’s summer event, giving guests a limited opportunity to experience the new aerial finale before it concludes on 14th September.

With projection mapping, fireworks, music and now a fleet of synchronised drones lighting up the skies above Cinderella Castle, Tokyo Disneyland is set to offer visitors an unforgettable new nighttime experience during the 2026 summer season.
