Guests visiting Tokyo DisneySea during the 25th anniversary “Sparkling Jubilee” celebration recently got a look at a modified version of the park’s new harbor entertainment due to inclement weather.
The full “Sparkling Jubilee Celebration” show is designed to take place in Mediterranean Harbor, featuring Mickey Mouse and Friends alongside Disney characters from across the park. The programme runs for around 15 minutes and is part of the wider anniversary festivities running from 15th April 2026 through 31st March 2027, marking 25 years since Tokyo DisneySea first opened in 2001.
Weather alters the performance
During a recent viewing, heavy rain prevented the full version of the show from taking place. Instead of the planned multi-location harbour performance, guests were presented with a shortened version featuring a decorated performance barge sailing through the harbour.
Even in its modified form, the entertainment retained the celebratory spirit of the event, with characters still greeting guests along the waterfront as the barge made its way across Mediterranean Harbor.
Anniversary costumes and themed barge
Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Goofy, Pluto, Chip, Dale, and several Duffy and Friends characters were all present. They appeared in their special Jubilee Blue anniversary costumes, which were also protected with clear rain ponchos due to the wet weather conditions.
The barge itself was heavily themed for the occasion, decorated with blue bunting, star motifs, and symbols representing different areas of the park. A prominent “25” emblem was displayed near the top, highlighting the anniversary year.
What the full show includes
Under normal conditions, the full “Sparkling Jubilee Celebration” is significantly more expansive. Characters appear not only on the main barge, but also at multiple points around the harbour including Piazza Topolino, Lido Isle, and near Zambini Brothers’ Ristorante.
The show features a large ensemble cast, including classic Disney characters as well as Duffy and Friends. Mickey leads a celebratory countdown to 25, joined by cast members stationed around the harbour. The performance is accompanied by the original anniversary theme song, “Come Join the Jubilee,” which celebrates the park’s history and future.
Part of a wider anniversary event
The harbour show is one of several entertainment offerings created for Tokyo DisneySea’s 25th anniversary. The celebration includes new nighttime projections, seasonal food and merchandise, and extensive park-wide decorations inspired by the “Jubilee Blue” colour scheme.
The anniversary event continues through March 2027, with additional shows, special dining experiences, and limited-time offerings rolling out across the resort.
