Construction has reached a major milestone at Shanghai Disneyland as the final piece of track has been installed on the resort’s upcoming Spider-Man-themed roller coaster. The attraction will serve as the centrepiece of a new Marvel-themed land and is set to become one of the most anticipated additions coming to the park.
Shanghai Disney Resort shared images of the final track installation, showing the bright red coaster track being placed onto the white support structure. With the last section now connected, the coaster’s layout has officially been completed, moving the project closer to future testing and opening preparations.
The Spider-Man coaster was first announced during D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in 2024. Disney revealed that the attraction will place guests directly into a high-speed adventure alongside Peter Parker, who has found himself in trouble once again. Riders will follow Spider-Man as he attempts to escape danger in a thrilling race through the new experience.
The attraction is part of a larger Spider-Man-themed land currently under construction at Shanghai Disneyland. The new area broke ground in May 2025 and will be located next to the park’s Zootopia land. Once completed, it will become Shanghai Disneyland’s ninth themed land and will feature Spider-Man and friends-inspired dining, shopping, and entertainment experiences alongside the headline coaster.
The project marks a significant expansion of Marvel’s presence at Shanghai Disneyland, with the roller coaster becoming the park’s first major Marvel-themed attraction. While Disney has not yet announced a final opening date or many ride details, the completed track structure suggests construction is progressing rapidly.
The finished coaster track is another step towards bringing Spider-Man’s world to life at the resort, and fans will be watching closely as theming, testing, and final construction continue ahead of the attraction’s debut.
