Disney had plenty to reveal at D23 this year, with fans getting exciting updates on several upcoming live-action films.

One of the biggest announcements was the live-action adaptation of Tangled. Disney revealed a first look at the film, including the costumes for Rapunzel, Flynn Rider and Mother Gothel. Teagan Croft will play Rapunzel, Milo Manheim will star as Flynn Rider and Kathryn Hahn will take on the role of Mother Gothel. Directed by Michael Gracey, the film is currently scheduled to arrive in cinemas on 31st March 2028.

Disney also continues to build on its recent success with live-action remakes, with Moana having already reached cinemas earlier this year. Starring Catherine Lagaʻaia as Moana and Dwayne Johnson as Maui, the film brings the animated favourite to life with a new cast while keeping many of the elements fans know and love.

The D23 announcements show that Disney is still heavily investing in live-action versions of its most recognisable stories. With Tangled now taking shape alongside other upcoming projects, there is plenty for Disney fans to look forward to over the next few years.
