Hong Kong Disneyland is preparing to give Pixar fans another reason to make the trip to the resort, with an all-new entertainment experience bringing several of Pixar Animation Studios’ most beloved stories together in one spectacular production.

Called “Ultimate Pixar Adventure,” the exclusive show is being developed specifically for Hong Kong Disneyland and will celebrate the characters, worlds and emotional storytelling that have made Pixar one of the most recognisable names in animation. According to WDW News Today, the production will feature five much-loved Pixar stories, giving audiences the opportunity to see several generations of Pixar favourites brought together on one stage.

The announcement comes as Hong Kong Disneyland continues to expand its Pixar presence. The resort’s 2026 Pixar Summer Fest has already brought Pixar characters into parades, character experiences, nighttime entertainment, food and merchandise across the resort.

Here are the five Pixar stories set to take centre stage.

Toy Story

It would be difficult to imagine a major Pixar celebration without Toy Story.

The franchise that started Pixar’s feature-film journey in 1995 remains one of the studio’s most recognisable properties, with Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie and the rest of the toy box continuing to appear throughout Disney Parks around the world.

Toy Story already has a particularly strong presence at Hong Kong Disneyland through Toy Story Land, which includes RC Racer, Toy Soldier Parachute Drop and Slinky Dog Spin. Disney has also been incorporating characters from Toy Story 5 into the resort’s current Pixar entertainment, making the franchise an especially fitting part of this new celebration.

For a stage production, Toy Story also provides plenty of opportunities for colourful costumes, familiar characters and moments of comedy that can appeal to both children discovering the films for the first time and adults who grew up with Woody and Buzz.

Monsters, Inc.

Next up is the wonderfully chaotic world of Monsters, Inc.

Mike Wazowski and Sulley have become two of Pixar’s most enduring characters, and their friendship provides exactly the sort of heart and humour that works particularly well in a live entertainment setting.

Hong Kong Disneyland has already embraced the franchise as part of its wider Pixar offerings. During Pixar Summer Fest, guests can encounter Monsters, Inc. characters through entertainment and enjoy themed treats inspired by Mike and Sulley. The resort’s “Friendtastic!” parade also features Mike and Sulley together on a laugh-powered float.

Their appearance in Ultimate Pixar Adventure therefore continues a much broader push to bring the world of Monsters, Inc. to life at the resort.

Cars

Lightning McQueen and the world of Cars will also be represented in the production.

Cars brings a very different visual style to Pixar’s catalogue, with Radiator Springs and its residents offering a colourful automotive world filled with humour, friendship and adventure.

The franchise has also become a familiar part of Disney Parks storytelling. At Hong Kong Disneyland, Cars characters are among the Pixar stories featured in the resort’s wider nighttime entertainment, with Lightning McQueen and other Pixar favourites helping to create a large-scale celebration of the studio’s films.

Bringing Cars into a live stage production presents another opportunity for Hong Kong Disneyland to showcase the variety within Pixar. Rather than focusing exclusively on human characters or traditional settings, the show can move audiences into a world where the cars themselves take centre stage.

Finding Nemo

Finding Nemo brings an entirely different atmosphere to Ultimate Pixar Adventure.

The underwater adventure of Marlin, Nemo and Dory has been a Pixar favourite since its release in 2003, combining a colourful ocean setting with one of the studio’s most emotional stories about family, courage and letting go.

The film is already represented at Hong Kong Disneyland in several ways. Pixar Summer Fest includes Finding Nemo within its resort-wide celebrations, while Disney Explorers Lodge has offered Finding Nemo-themed poolside experiences as part of the summer programme.

The story’s inclusion in Ultimate Pixar Adventure should allow the production to introduce a completely different visual environment, contrasting the bright toy-filled world of Toy Story and the monster-filled setting of Monsters, Inc. with the colourful underwater world of Nemo and Dory.

Up

Rounding out the five stories is Up, one of Pixar’s most emotional and visually distinctive films.

Carl Fredricksen’s adventure with Russell and Dug has become synonymous with Pixar’s ability to balance comedy and heartfelt storytelling. The image of Carl’s house floating into the sky beneath a sea of colourful balloons is among the studio’s most recognisable pieces of imagery.

Up has also become an important part of Hong Kong Disneyland’s current Pixar entertainment. Carl, Russell and Dug appear in the resort’s “Friendtastic!” parade aboard a soaring airship, while the characters are also available for encounters elsewhere in the park.

Its inclusion in Ultimate Pixar Adventure should give the production an opportunity to bring some of Pixar’s more emotional storytelling to the stage, providing a natural contrast to the comedy and action of the other featured franchises.

A Celebration of Pixar’s Greatest Stories

What makes Ultimate Pixar Adventure particularly interesting is the combination of films involved.

Toy Story represents Pixar’s earliest feature-film success. Monsters, Inc. and Finding Nemo continue the studio’s run of hugely successful original stories, while Cars and Up demonstrate how varied Pixar’s worlds can be.

Together, the five films cover toys, monsters, cars, marine life and an elderly adventurer travelling through the skies, demonstrating just how broad Pixar’s storytelling universe has become.

The new show also fits neatly into Hong Kong Disneyland’s growing relationship with Pixar. The resort’s current Pixar Summer Fest features Toy Story, The Incredibles, Inside Out, Coco, Up and other Pixar stories across daytime and nighttime entertainment. The new “Pixar Pals Spectacular,” for example, uses drones, fountains, projections and giant inflatables to bring characters from films including Toy Story, The Incredibles, Cars, Inside Out, Finding Nemo, Up, WALL-E and Monsters, Inc. into a large-scale nighttime celebration.

That makes Ultimate Pixar Adventure feel like another step towards establishing Hong Kong Disneyland as a major destination for Pixar entertainment.

For fans who have followed Pixar from Toy Story through to its more recent films, seeing several of these worlds brought together in a single production could make the show one of the resort’s most intriguing new entertainment offerings.

And while each of the five stories has its own distinctive characters and setting, they all share the same ingredient that has defined Pixar for decades: stories built around friendship, family, courage and the importance of the people we meet along the way.

That makes Ultimate Pixar Adventure more than simply a collection of Pixar characters. It has the potential to become a celebration of the stories themselves, bringing together some of the studio’s most recognisable worlds for an audience in Hong Kong.

With Hong Kong Disneyland already embracing Pixar across its attractions, parades, character experiences, food and nighttime entertainment, the arrival of Ultimate Pixar Adventure could further cement the resort’s reputation as one of the best places in Asia to experience the worlds of Pixar.
