Disneyland Extends ‘Wondrous Journeys’ and ‘Paint the Night’ Beyond D23 2026

Disneyland Resort guests will have more opportunities to experience two of the resort’s most popular nighttime offerings this summer, as Disney has extended performances of both “Wondrous Journeys” and the “Paint the Night” parade beyond their previously expected end date.

The extension comes as Disneyland continues celebrating its 70th Anniversary, a milestone that has brought back several fan-favourite entertainment experiences. Originally expected to conclude around the beginning of D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in August, both productions will now continue running through 20th August 2026 before making way for the resort’s seasonal Halloween entertainment.

“Wondrous Journeys,” Disneyland’s acclaimed nighttime spectacular, has become one of the defining entertainment offerings of the anniversary celebration. The show transforms Sleeping Beauty Castle, Main Street U.S.A., “it’s a small world,” and the Rivers of America with projection mapping, music, and on select evenings, fireworks. Inspired by more than a century of Walt Disney Animation Studios storytelling, the production features beloved characters and memorable moments from films spanning generations.

Meanwhile, “Paint the Night” continues to delight guests with its dazzling collection of illuminated floats and over a million LED lights. The parade returned as part of Disneyland’s anniversary festivities and has quickly re-established itself as one of the most sought-after nighttime experiences at the resort. Current performances are scheduled twice nightly, giving visitors additional opportunities to catch the spectacle.

The extension is particularly welcome news for Disney fans planning visits around D23, which takes place from 14th to 16th August 2026 in Anaheim. Guests attending the convention will now have the chance to experience both entertainment offerings during the event weekend, creating an even stronger connection between the fan celebration and Disneyland’s anniversary festivities.

Among Disneyland enthusiasts, both productions have developed passionate followings. Community discussions across fan forums frequently place “Wondrous Journeys” among the resort’s strongest modern nighttime spectaculars, while many visitors continue to regard “Paint the Night” as one of Disney’s most impressive parades.

After 20th August, Disneyland is expected to transition into its Halloween season entertainment lineup, which traditionally includes seasonal overlays and themed nighttime offerings. The temporary extension allows guests an extra eleven days to enjoy these anniversary favourites before the seasonal changeover begins.

For Disney fans hoping to experience the resort’s 70th Anniversary entertainment, the announcement provides a welcome bonus, ensuring that two of Disneyland’s headline attractions remain part of the summer lineup through most of August.
