Disney Cruise Line Unveils ‘Disney Believe’ as Fleet Expansion Continues

Disney Cruise Line has officially revealed the name of its next highly anticipated ship: the Disney Believe, a vessel that promises to continue the company’s ambitious expansion at sea while introducing a fresh storytelling concept centred on optimism and imagination.

Announced on 18th March 2026 during The Walt Disney Company’s annual shareholders meeting, the Disney Believe will become the ninth ship in the fleet and is currently scheduled to debut in late 2027.

A New Chapter in the Wish Class

The Disney Believe will be the fourth ship in Disney Cruise Line’s Wish class, joining its sister vessels: the Disney Wish (2022), Disney Treasure (2024), and Disney Destiny (2025).

Like the other ships in this class, the Believe will blend immersive storytelling with cutting-edge cruise design. However, each Wish-class ship is defined by a unique thematic identity. For the Disney Believe, that theme is described as “promise and possibilities” — a concept designed to inspire guests through uplifting Disney narratives.

This thematic direction is expected to influence everything onboard, from décor and entertainment to dining and guest experiences, continuing Disney’s strategy of making each ship feel distinct rather than interchangeable.

Stories Brought to Life at Sea

While full details are still under wraps, Disney has already teased a range of beloved stories that will shape the onboard experience. These include films such as Encanto, Frozen, Snow White, Moana, and The Little Mermaid.

As with previous ships, guests can also expect integration of Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars properties throughout the vessel, creating an environment where storytelling extends far beyond traditional entertainment venues.

This approach has become a hallmark of Disney Cruise Line, transforming ships into fully immersive worlds rather than simply modes of travel.

Part of a Major Expansion Strategy

The Disney Believe is just one piece of a much larger growth plan. Disney Cruise Line is currently undergoing its most significant expansion ever, with multiple new ships scheduled through to 2031.

The fleet already reached a milestone in March 2026 with the launch of the Disney Adventure, the company’s largest ship and its first to be based in Asia.

By 2031, Disney aims to operate a fleet of 13 ships, significantly increasing capacity and allowing the company to reach new global markets.

Building on a Proven Formula

The Wish-class ships represent Disney’s modern approach to cruising, combining advanced ship design with theatrical storytelling and themed environments. These vessels are slightly larger than earlier ships in the fleet and emphasise experiences onboard as much as destinations themselves.

With the Disney Believe, the company appears to be refining that formula even further — focusing on emotional storytelling and aspirational themes that resonate across generations.

Looking Ahead

Although many details about the Disney Believe remain to be revealed, its announcement signals Disney Cruise Line’s continued confidence in the cruise industry and its commitment to innovation.

As more information emerges over the coming months, the Disney Believe is likely to become one of the most closely watched cruise developments — not just for Disney fans, but for the wider travel industry.

For now, one thing is clear: Disney is betting that the future of cruising lies not only in where you travel, but in the stories you experience along the way.
