Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse are shifting into high gear with brand-new racing outfits inspired by Formula 1, appearing as part of special limited-time experiences at Shanghai Disneyland.
The new looks debut as part of the ongoing Disney and Formula 1 collaboration known as the “Fuel the Magic” campaign. Beginning 12th March, visitors to Shanghai Disneyland may encounter Mickey and Minnie wearing their racing-themed costumes during surprise appearances near the park’s main entrance portal.
The costumes are designed to reflect the excitement and style of Formula 1 racing culture. Both characters sport sleek racing uniforms that evoke the aesthetics of professional motorsport, bringing the high-speed world of Formula 1 into Disney’s storytelling and character interactions.

The appearances coincide with the Chinese Grand Prix weekend, which runs from 13th to 15th March. As part of the celebrations, Disney and Formula 1 are introducing a range of themed experiences tied to the race.
Inside Shanghai Disneyland, guests can also see a special Disney x Formula 1 show car on display in Tomorrowland. The vehicle features a design inspired by Mickey Mouse, blending the visual identity of Disney’s most famous character with the cutting-edge style of Formula 1 race cars.
Beyond the park, the collaboration extends to the race itself. At the Chinese Grand Prix, a “Fuel the Magic” fan zone will offer branded merchandise, race-specific items, and pieces from a core Disney x Formula 1 collection. The area will also feature entertainment and character appearances from Mickey and friends throughout the race weekend.
The initiative is part of a broader partnership between Disney and Formula 1 that aims to merge motorsport culture with Disney’s storytelling and characters. The campaign spans merchandise, digital content, and live entertainment at race events around the world, bringing the energy of Formula 1 to Disney fans while introducing younger audiences to the sport.
With Mickey and Minnie now dressed for the track, the collaboration highlights how Disney continues to experiment with new ways to blend pop culture, sports, and theme park experiences.
