Construction continues across multiple areas of Disneyland Paris as the resort prepares for major expansions and updates tied to the upcoming transformation of Walt Disney Studios Park into Disney Adventure World. Recent aerial photos and park observations reveal progress on several projects that extend beyond the debut of the highly anticipated World of Frozen area, which is scheduled to open on 29th March 2026.

Disney Adventure World Transformation

One of the most significant developments underway at Disneyland Paris is the ongoing evolution of Walt Disney Studios Park. Once the World of Frozen expansion opens, the park will officially be renamed Disney Adventure World, marking a major shift in the park’s identity and storytelling approach.

The transformation includes a redesigned entrance area known as World Premiere. This reimagined gateway will set the tone for the park’s new direction, offering guests a more immersive arrival experience before they enter the themed lands beyond. The changes represent Disney’s effort to move the park away from its original “studio backlot” concept and toward a more cohesive adventure-focused theme.

Adventure Way and the Central Lake

Another key component of the park’s expansion is Adventure Way, a landscaped promenade that will guide visitors toward Adventure Bay, a large central lake that serves as the visual and thematic heart of the park’s future layout.

Adventure Bay will not only act as a scenic gathering area but will also host a new nighttime spectacular once the land is complete. The waterfront area will include gardens and pathways designed to connect several new attractions and themed environments together.

The development around Adventure Way also includes new dining locations such as The Regal View Restaurant and Lounge, which will overlook the lake and provide views of the nighttime entertainment. These additions are meant to transform the area into a hub where guests can relax, dine, and enjoy the atmosphere between attractions.

Rapunzel Attraction and Future Rides

One of the attractions under construction near Adventure Way is the Rapunzel Tangled Spin ride, a spinning attraction inspired by the Disney animated film Tangled. The ride will feature themed elements tied to the world of Rapunzel and will help expand the park’s family-friendly ride lineup.

Nearby, construction progress is also visible on a future Up-themed attraction. This ride will take the form of a flying carousel inspired by the Pixar film Up. The attraction’s circular foundation and structural layout have already begun taking shape, indicating that the project has moved into a new phase of construction.

Although Adventure Way will open alongside World of Frozen and the new park name in March 2026, the Up attraction itself is expected to debut later, possibly in late 2026 or even 2027.

Lion King Land and Long-Term Expansion

Beyond the projects already visible in the park, Disney has also planned a future land inspired by The Lion King. While construction progress has begun in the broader area, the timeline for the opening of this land has not yet been officially confirmed.

The Lion King expansion is expected to add another large-scale themed environment to Disney Adventure World, further strengthening the park’s lineup of major franchises alongside Frozen, Marvel, and Pixar properties.

Disney Village Updates

Outside the parks, construction and refurbishment projects are also continuing at Disney Village, the shopping and entertainment district located between the theme parks and the resort hotels.

The original Disney Store building has reportedly been dismantled and will be replaced with a redesigned retail location called Disney Wonders. The new store is planned to feature a refreshed interior that brings together merchandise from multiple Disney franchises under one roof.

Recent additions to Disney Village already include new retail and dining locations such as Disney Style, Disney Glamour, Deco by Disney, and a LEGO Store. A new terrace restaurant called Petite Rosalie has also opened, while an Italian restaurant named Casa Giulia is scheduled to open later this year, replacing the former Planet Hollywood location.

Meanwhile, a newly built McDonald’s location has opened in the district, replacing the original restaurant that previously operated there.

A Resort in Transition

Taken together, these projects show that Disneyland Paris is in the middle of one of the most ambitious transformation periods in its history. From the creation of Disney Adventure World to the ongoing updates at Disney Village, the resort is steadily evolving to include larger themed environments, more immersive storytelling, and expanded dining and shopping experiences.
