Shanghai Disneyland is gearing up for its 10th anniversary, and the celebrations promise to be as grand and imaginative as the park itself. Opening on 20th March 2026, the “With You, It’s Magic+” celebration will span an entire year, bringing new entertainment, festive décor, delicious treats, exclusive merchandise and interactive experiences to guests from around the world.
At the heart of the festivities is an all-new daytime spectacular titled The Heart of Magic. Set across the expansive Enchanted Storybook Castle — enhanced with satellite stages and connecting walkways — the show follows Mickey and his friends on a quest to restore the titular Heart of Magic. Alongside familiar faces from classics like Cinderella, Frozen, Toy Story, Coco and Tangled, the event marks the Shanghai debut of Hercules and the first major park role for Miguel from Coco. Expect cinematic staging, new costumes and beloved songs woven into a narrative celebration of the park’s first decade.
Festive energy will also fill the parade route with significant updates to Mickey’s Storybook Express. A brand-new pre-parade unit called FriendSHIP! The Duffy and Friends’ Special Pre-Parade invites fans to meet all seven members of Duffy and Friends aboard a shimmering golden ship-themed float. For an added twist of fun, selected guests may even march alongside them. Behind them, a Zootopia-themed float will roll through the park, complete with superstar Gazelle’s concert bus and lively appearances by Judy Hopps, Nick Wilde and DJ Officer Clawhauser, bringing the upbeat spirit of Zootopia to life with music and dance.
As day turns to night, the castle comes alive with a refreshed version of Illuminate! A Nighttime Celebration. This reimagined spectacle features fountains, lasers, fireworks and projection effects transforming the Gardens of Imagination. Mickey himself appears in a magical finale wearing a special magician’s outfit, and a new segment inspired by Wish, featuring Asha and Star, adds fresh emotional resonance to the show.
The anniversary doesn’t stop with performances. Throughout the year, guests will find anniversary-themed food and drink across the resort, including noodle dishes that pay homage to Chinese birthday traditions. Fan-favourite snacks from the past decade will also make a comeback, satisfying nostalgia and curiosity alike. Merchandise opportunities are vast; this is set to be the resort’s largest dedicated collection ever, with plush toys, apparel, accessories and new interactive items like a magic wand that lets guests summon and collect magic during their visit. Special collectible tickets featuring 30 Disney characters, each with part of a puzzle to form a complete set, add another layer of fun for those returning to the park multiple times.
Elsewhere in the resort, anniversary décor and character encounters will make every corner feel festive, with shimmering stars, hidden “10” motifs and surprise interactions with cast members. Disneytown will host seasonal markets and activities, while resort hotels introduce in-room birthday surprises and exploration tours highlighting the celebration’s theme.
Shanghai Disneyland’s 10th anniversary event is shaping up to be a vibrant tribute to a decade of creativity and joy. For Disney fans and travellers alike, it’s a year of magic worth planning for.
