Opening TimeFrame Announced for Wreck-It Ralph Attraction

Tokyo Disney Resort has given fans an exciting update on its long-anticipated Wreck-It Ralph attraction, confirming a clearer opening timeframe and shedding more light on what visitors can expect when this colourful new experience arrives in Tomorrowland.

At a recent announcement, Tokyo Disney revealed that the new attraction will open in spring 2027, finally narrowing down the previously vague “2026 or later” window that had been shared when the project was first announced. This gives guests a more concrete idea of when they can step into the candy-coloured world of Sugar Rush alongside Ralph and Vanellope.

The upcoming ride will take over the space once occupied by Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters, a beloved interactive shooting dark ride that permanently closed in October 2024 to make way for this new experience.

Although an official title for the attraction has yet to be revealed, Tokyo Disney has shared some of the ride’s core themes and concepts. Guests will embark on an adventure inside the vibrant Sugar Rush video game from the Wreck-It Ralph films, teaming up with the title characters to defend the game from troublesome “sugar bugs” created by villain King Candy. As part of the attraction’s interactive mechanics, visitors will use blaster-style devices to zap these sugar bugs, turning them back into brightly coloured treats like cakes and cookies.

The exterior of the building is also being updated to match the refreshed aesthetic of Tomorrowland, which has been evolving with the addition of attractions such as The Happy Ride with Baymax and The Big Pop. This thematic overhaul aims to give the land a cohesive, futuristic look that harmonises with the new stories being told within it.

In addition to the new Wreck-It Ralph attraction, Tokyo Disneyland is undergoing other major transformations, including the rebuild of Space Mountain, which is also slated to open in 2027.

For park visitors and Disney enthusiasts worldwide, the spring 2027 projection offers a promising window to plan trips and experience this fresh, high-tech twist on a beloved Disney film universe, right in the heart of Tokyo Disneyland’s Tomorrowland.
