Disneyland Paris is opening a new chapter of enchantment this spring — and this one comes wrapped in snowflakes, sisterhood, and a sprinkle of royal magic. On 29th March 2026, the eagerly awaited World of Frozen will open its doors inside Disney Adventure World, the freshly reimagined name for what was once Walt Disney Studios Park. At the heart of this stunning new land lies a deeply immersive journey into Arendelle, the beloved Nordic kingdom from Disney’s Frozen films.
The star of the show — at least in spirit — is the Rencontre Royale (or “Royal Encounter”), a brand new experience that invites guests to step directly into the world of Frozen and be welcomed by Anna and Elsa themselves. The encounter unfolds inside Arendelle Castle, magically opened for the enchanting Snowflower Festival. As celebrations fill the kingdom, these iconic sisters receive visitors for private audiences, bringing a storybook moment to life.
What makes this experience special isn’t just the chance to meet Anna and Elsa — it’s the phenomenal attention to detail that helps bridge the world of animation and real-life wonder. The waiting area leading up to the meeting room is dotted with references drawn straight from the films. Guests will spot familiar paintings — including a reimagined take on the famous The Swing by Jean-Honoré Fragonard — reminiscent of scenes from For the First Time in Forever. Opposite these, two family portraits portray Anna and Elsa as children with their parents, and later as adults surrounded by beloved companions Kristoff, Sven and Olaf.
Emma Yeates, Senior Manager of Show Design at Walt Disney Imagineering Paris, explains that the waiting room isn’t merely functional; it’s meant to transport visitors into the very halls of Arendelle Castle. Rich wallpaper, authentic-looking frames and carefully crafted décor all work together to reinforce the sense that you have truly crossed into the kingdom.
Once inside the actual encounter space, more delights await keen eyes. A grand painting depicts the coronation of King Agnarr — a piece that resonates deeply with the story of Elsa’s own coronation, complete with the royal orb and scepter she wears. And tucked into a corner, subtle nods to Anna’s childhood — like the clock from the Do You Want to Build a Snowman? sequence — make the scene feel lived-in and emotionally grounded.
Throughout the entire Rencontre Royale, hidden gems and story references are sprinkled like frost on a windowpane. Whether you’re a lifelong fan of Frozen or encountering these characters for the first time, the immersive design draws you into the narrative in a way that feels both familiar and new.
This regal experience opens alongside the rest of World of Frozen, joining new dining and shopping offerings and the family-friendly Frozen Ever After attraction. All will come together on 29th March 2026 when World of Frozen welcomes its first guests into a festival-filled kingdom where the spirit of sisterhood and adventure awaits.
