Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach Open for the Summer

Disney has confirmed that its two water parks at Walt Disney World — Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach — will both be open at the same time during the summer of 2026. This marks a return to overlapping operations; in recent years the parks usually took turns being open, with only one available at a time.

Typhoon Lagoon is scheduled to close for seasonal maintenance in mid-February, and Blizzard Beach will reopen the very next day. After that, from 26th May to 8th September 2026, guests will be able to enjoy both parks in the same season. This summer timeframe lines up with the resort’s Cool Kids’ Summer events, which also include new entertainment offerings elsewhere on property.

During the period when both water parks are operating, visitors staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel can take advantage of a perk that lets them enter a water park for free on the day they check in.

Having both Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon open simultaneously hasn’t been the norm over the past few years; the parks typically alternated their seasons. They last overlapped for summer operations a year ago before the 2026 announcement.

This gives water-park fans a chance to choose between the two nautical-themed experiences during their trips, with sprawling slides and wave pools at both venues.
