Disney will start repainting Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom start January 2026. This is part of the project to restore the castle to it’s classic appearance.
The project timeline stretches across 2026 with work expected to wrap up later in the year.
The moat around Cinderella Castle will be drained to allow crews to access lower sections of the structure and prepare surfaces. Cranes will be used to reach higher sections, however Disney plans on lowering and removing cranes by noon each day to limit the impact on daytime park views and guest photos.
Beginning 28th January, there will be temporary adjustments to entertainment. Let the Magic Begin welcome show will be modified and also Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire and the night-time spectacular show Happily Ever After will continue with minor adjustments.
There has been no end date on these entertainment changes, but should be expected to remain in place whilst the exterior work on the castle continues.
